Strangers to Family

There is something magical about watching so many different walks of life come together for the common good. Over the last 4 years, we have watched sports teams, seniors, schools and colleges, police officers, past homeless individuals, grieving parents, and leather vests all come together to prepare, deliver and spread love throughout our city.

December 1st, 2023, we had the privilege of working for the first time with a group of motorcycle riders called Shepherds of Fire RC. They had been looking for an organization that they could help spread some love and compassion throughout Sudbury. After speaking with their then-vice president, Bizzzy Bea’s had offered them the chance to help out at our annual Christmas party for the homeless population, and what a celebration it had turned into that night.

By 9pm, there was no mistaking that the Shepherds of Fire RC had become a part of our family. The pride and respect that Bizzzy Bea’s had received from these men and had developed for them as well was a feeling beyond words. After a quick conversation with the remarkable man who started the riding club, we decided to partner up every Sunday to cook and deliver an extra 100 meals a week. They did not stop there. From finding us Penny Thrifting who donates monthly a skid of water, to rolling up their sleeves on nights we are short volunteers, sprucing up and attending our annual galas, and always making sure to be available for any crazy fundraising ideas, they have become the brothers we did not know we were missing.

With already 2 annual Christmas parties under their belt and over 6,400 meals delivered themselves alone, they have fulfilled their mission of helping the community and we are blessed to include them in our family.
